Abstract

In this panel we explore the recent development towards more individualised active labour market policies and deregulation of employment. What are the consequences of these developments for inequality and income distribution? Moreover, the panel explores the political consequences of retrenchment and deregulation. Why was there not opposition to the retrenchment of unemployment protection and who support activation measure and stricter conditions of benefit reception?
