The Faculty of Political Science and Journalism (FPSJ) is one of the 20 faculties at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. At present the Faculty has over 3,600 students divided into four majors: Political Science, International Relations, Journalism and Social Communication, and National Security (started in October 2011). The Faculty employs 98 researchers and lecturers. Many specialist classes are run by members of various editorial offices, representatives of the authorities and employees of public institutions. Every year the Faculty organizes approximately 10 international and national scholarly conferences. Bielefeld offers specialized undergraduate and graduate programmes in political science. Moreover, political science forms an integral part of the undergraduate programme in social sciences, in some specialized graduate studies, and in the structured doctoral degree programmes of the Faculty.
Disciplinary fields within political science represented by professorships are International Relations, Comparative Politics, Public Policy, Political Theory, European Studies, Political Sociology, and Global Social Policy. In addition to a strong sociological orientation, there also exists a long tradition of studying political processes in a global context, most notably in the Faculty’s interdisciplinary Institute for World Society Studies.

Bilkent University was founded on October 20, 1984 by İhsan Doğramacı (1915 – 2010) through the joint resolution of the İhsan Doğramacı Education Foundation, the İhsan Doğramacı Science and Research Foundation, and the İhsan Doğramacı Health Foundation. The aim was to create a center of excellence in higher education and research. The name “Bilkent” exemplifies the founder’s aim, since it is an acronym of bilim kenti Turkish for “city of science and knowledge.” The university is located in Turkey’s capital city of Ankara.
