The contribution will examine the integration of the Trade Unions from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in the “European trade union federations” (ETUFs). It will give answers on the following questions: How do the participation and cooperation of Trade Unions from CEE looks like and how they communicate with the European Associational Level, what political preferences or positions they present and to what degree they can shape the concrete policy of the ETUFs. The contribution analyses and compares the integration of trade unions from all new member states with the exception of the Baltic and Western Balkan area (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Croatia and Slovenia) in three ETUFs: ETUC, INDUSTRIALL Europe and UNI Europe. The paper will show, that, despite the organizational weakness of the unions from CEE, progresses in their Europeanization can be observed in some areas.
