This panel brings together papers that study the selection of recruitment of elites at the parliamentary and executive levels. It will include papers that offer both descriptive and explanatory analyses of recruitment and selection in a variety of settings. In particular papers will identify institutional, ideological, experiential and other variables to explain recruitment and circulation of elites.
