Abstract

This panel investigates the digital evolution of far-right ideologies across Europe, emphasizing the interplay between platform dynamics, visual and discursive strategies, and sociopolitical contexts. From Instagram's image curation to alt-tech video platforms and gaming spaces, the papers reveal how extremist actors exploit digital environments to normalise, circulate, and localise radical ideologies and narratives. Case studies ranging from France and Greece to the Baltics highlight the role of media infrastructures, nationalism, and algorithmic logics in shaping new forms of political identity and engagement. Collectively, the panel offers a nuanced understanding of how online spaces are actively reshaping the visibility, aesthetics, and influence of far-right discourses in the contemporary era.
