Abstract

This panel examines two facets of populism. On the one hand, it investigates the interaction of populism and social media, with a focus on the COVID-19 pandemic. It will investigate populist parties' and voters' reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic, including to the policies and images triggered by the crisis. On the other hand, this panel also analyzes the consequences of populism for polarization and different aspects of public policies.
