Call for Sections and Section Chairs
25 June – 1 August 2025 (midnight UK time)
Don't miss a valuable opportunity to shape the conference and network with scholars in your field!
Good to know
You may register interest as a team of two or more.
We will prioritise proposals that meet the following criteria:
- Highly original and show potential to attract the interest of a wide and diverse audience.
- Proposed by a diverse team with different levels of seniority and based in different countries and regions. Chairs should not be based the same country.
- Promote research and scholarship at the intersections of politics and gender, sexuality, race and intersectionality.
The Steering Committee may invite teams to collaborate if this would benefit the wider ECPG community, or if the proposals overlap.
Role of Section Chairs
- Develop a description of the Section within the topics listed below, or propose a new one.
- Issue a call for Papers, Panels and contributions to their Section.
- Invite and decide on the format of Section activities (Panels, open discussions, book roundtables, etc.).

- Allocate participants including Chairs and Discussants to Panels and other section activities.
The evaluation of Paper proposals will take place between 8 November and 18 December 2025.
