The Marburg Institute for Political Science is among the oldest and largest institutes of its kind in Germany with 11 tenured chairs. Its faculty covers all traditional sub-disciplines of political science, as well as Gender Studies, Politics of the Near and Middle East, and Conflict Studies. Residing in a newly renovated, early 19th century brick-stone building, the institute offers Bachelor and M.A. degrees in Political Science, and participates in a large variety of interdisciplinary programs and international networks. Research interests comprise the Politics and Economics of the Global South, Global Political Economy, Democracy and its Contestations, Feminism and Gender Roles, Peace and Conflict Studies, Didactics of Political Science, EU and German Foreign Policy, etc.
