During this workshop, I would like to introduce the activity "treasure hunt" that can be used as a participatory design in both online and face-to-face classes. The session will start with a brief introduction of the topic, followed by an actual treasure hunt across the building of the Faculty of Arts, and a debriefing at the end. It is an interesting tool that I believe can be used in a great variety of settings. I think this type of activity might help with student motivation and activation, while also serving as a summary of important information and/or to motivate the students to search for additional information on their own. In this task, participants will have to search for clues to a series of riddles in various parts of the building in order to discover the "treasure" (most likely a sweet reward). This activity is based on the concept of escape rooms and scavenger hunts, either online (as on flippity.net) or in real setting (e.g. quite often used in museums).
