Join us for this workshop where we will be engaging and ‘playing’ with some digital tech apps to consider the how and why of using such apps for teaching and learning. One of the things we found among many colleagues was good intentions to use more digital applications. However, many were lacking the time to reflect on why use a specific app and what students gain from its use, as well as lacking time, space and support to experiment ‘safely’, and developing a back-up plan when it all goes down - this could be, for example, a result of failure in technology or unanticipated outcomes from the use of technology. We also want to explore with attendees how some of these apps can be used in blended learning courses to extend learning beyond the boundaries of ‘class time’.
*Note: this workshop will be held in-person, but also online in a hybrid format. We'd like to encourage attendees in both spaces to join us.
