Even though a diploma seminar is the best environment for collective learning, it often drifts into working with individual students, with limited opportunities for peer learning. In my presentation, I want to present a model of the organization of the diploma seminar, which puts peer learning at the center and encourages students to collaborate. The model is based on peer reviews conducted by students and evaluated by the instructor, aiming to improve the quality of thesis preparing by students and teach them how to give valuable feedback.
During my presentation, I want to introduce to participants the model of teaching that I use and encourage them to reflect on peer learning during small seminars. I will use Mentimeter at the beginning and towards the end of my speech to interact with the audience. Firstly, it allows learning the participants' experiences with peer-reviews during diploma seminars. Secondly, it will be an opportunity to collect their thoughts on the advantages of the model and barriers that have to be overcome if they want to introduce a similar way of teaching. Their responses will feed the final discussion on the method's applicability in different academic contexts.
