This paper will explore how parties organize around the globe. We will investigate how similar or different parties are in different regions of the world, how similar or different they are in different regimes types, how well our conceptual tools and indicators travel. Hence, this paper will provide n mapping party organizational profiles around the globe and, at the same time contribute to the methodology of the comparative study of parties in democracies. To complete these investigations, the paper takes advantage of a new data resource, the Political Party Database Round 2, which offers a unique glimpse into the organizational practices of over 280 parties in more than 50 countries from six continents.
