Recent mass migration as a consequence of the Arab Spring and in particular the Syrian Civil War, put all European Countries under high pressure and exhacerbated existing political debate on migration at both domestic and European level. The paper focuses on the British institutional and legal responses and policy developments regarding mass migration and refugee movements, as a destination country, with special attention to the dimension of migration governance before/after the Brexit decision
