The aim of the presentation is to analyze national referendum as a part of social and political participation. There will be analyzed tree countries: Poland, Croatia and Montenegro after the collapse of the communist system. The presentation consists of three parts: conditions of national referendum in these three countries, formal-legal assumptions and practice of national referendums.
