This paper provides a review of the field of Higher Education research in Politics and International Relations since 2000. The paper is based on an analysis of articles published in UK-based journals that specialise in publishing research on learning and teaching and relevant books and book chapters. Drawing on the work of Malcolm Tight, the research findings will be presented within a 6-stage analytical framework: themes or issues; methods and methodologies, theoretical perspectives; levels of analysis; characteristics of authors; patterns of citation. The findings of the paper will emphasise both the work that has been undertaken in the subject discipline as well as areas of research that are being ignored.
