This paper revisits discussions of gender and nationalism through an exploration of the construction of citizenship in conflict arenas in Europe. Taking Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina as case studies, the paper explores how citizenship is gendered through the legacy of conflict, and conflict resolution.
