Teaching Critical Thinking

Abstract

Have you ever used journals as a teaching tool? In this session, Jelena Belic will share her experience with using a guided journal as a teaching tool in a pedagogical course on teaching strategies for critical thinking skills. She will share how the assignment was designed, how it was received by the students and what learning goals were achieved. The session will also feature an open discussion about using journals to promote critical thinking skills in regular disciplinary courses.
