Abstract

This panel focuses on decision making in the European Union exploring a variety of themes. These include examining decision-making in the EU since its enlargement; the relationship between the Court of Auditors and the European Parliament in the area of financial accountability; agenda-setting in the Commission as well as the influence of more critical public opinion on the agenda setting of the EU Presidency; the potential long-term impact of what is known as ‘parliamentarisation’ of EU politics; and an examination of the EU’s vertical separation of powers in comparative perspective.
