This panel addresses how technological developments—particularly those related to drones and cyber war—are reshaping the nature of international conflict. Given the contemporary debate on drones and the automation of warfare, papers will specifically elaborate on the link between drones warfare and the democratic nature of the states involved. Likewise, other papers address the implications of cyber warfare for international relations in light of the extreme difficulty involved in either tracing the origin of cyber attacks or determining whether they were launched by state or non-state actors.
