This session focuses on nature protection organizations, networks of such organizations, and nature protection movements in European countries. Analyses of organizations and movements that mix nature protection and other goals are also welcome, so long as nature protection is a central concern for them and the analysis focuses on this aspect of their activities. Papers may focus on either historical or contemporary events and may examine nature protection efforts at the local, regional, national, or EU level, but preference will be given to papers that analyze nature protection efforts in a broader political and social context, as opposed to purely local case studies.
