Abstract

The discursive turn in policy analysis has informed a growing body of scholarly research concerning power and the policy process. This body of work critiques traditional ways of understanding political institutions and processes and has helped uncover several layers of power relationships that have been previously neglected. Using this approach, policy researchers have engaged in explicating and identifying the normative and operational discourses that underpin a wide variety of political processes and institutions. This panel attempts to bring together papers that focus on the researchers' theoretical and methodological innovations in applying the discursive approach to different areas of policy research and analysis.
