Abstract

This panel explores the complexities of post-conflict reintegration, criminal governance, and militarization in Latin America. Papers examine the security challenges facing ex-combatants in Colombia, the political and economic influence of criminal organizations in Mexico, the role of Cuba as a mediator in peace negotiations, and legislative debates on militarization in Brazil and Mexico. By analyzing these themes, this panel sheds light on how governance, violence, and democratic institutions interact in contemporary Latin America.
