This panel brings together scholars of gender and politics who focus on conflict, securutization and state repression. The questions that are tackled by the participants include the following: how conflict affects different outcomes for women and men? How does conflict affect feminist mobilization over time? Does the effect vary by region? What can queer and feminist theory teach us about torture? How can we conceptualize the connection between gender equality and criminal justice, particularly gender equality in prisons?
