Abstract

Researchers have shown a growing interest in understanding the behaviour of political elites. Multilevel government provides opportunities for the study of competition between parties and elites at different levels as well as for the analysis of similarities and differences between them at the national and sub-state levels. Yet, the scholarship on parties and elites has so far focused on the national-level, living an important gap regarding legislative behaviour at sub-state levels. The present panel seeks to further our understanding of sub-national politicians and parties.
