Observing scenes of organised crime and corruption collusion: common features and research gaps

Abstract

This session will provide concrete examples and case studies of OC and corruption patterns and collusions in Europe and Latin America. Speakers will reflect on and discuss: perceptions and experiences of OC-corruption nexus and the conditions under which specific patterns can be identified, contained, and/or dissolved; the multidimensionality of consequences and impact generated by the OC-Pol nexus, including within the internal dynamic of OC functioning; tools and ideas to stimulate data-collection and refine observation protocols on corruption, in particular the link with different forms of organised crime.
