In person icon Managing Migration from a Multilevel Perspective: a Focus on Supranational and Sub-National Policies and Actors

Abstract

While most of the immigration related policies are designed and implemented within the narrow borders of the nation-state, the supranational and sub-national levels of governance play also a key role when it comes to the integration of immigrants and refugees. Both at the EU and regional/local level there is a plethora of policies for the management of the migration and refugee crisis. This panel gathers papers that explore the multi-layered policies at the regional and supranational level from both a theoretical and an empirical perspective, by focusing on the different actions of solidarity networks, trained professionals, political and labour market actors.
