Sandra Hagelin is a PhD Candidate and Junior Research Fellow, Johan Skytte Insitute, University of Tartu. Her research interests concern borders, space formation, geopolitics, discourses, and European integration, with a particular focus on the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). Her latest publication centers on the analysis of discourses within Baltic media portrayals of the migratory pressure along the Belarusian border.

Dr Carolin Leutloff-Grandits is a social anthropologist and works as a senior researcher at the interdisciplinary Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION at the European University Viadrina. Her research interests include migration, borders, temporality, social security, and family. She is particularly concerned with the countries of the former Yugoslavia and with Germany. Her research appeared among others in Journal of Borderlands Studies, Archivio Antropologico Mediterraneo. She also co-edited a book Migranting Borders and Moving Times. Temporality and the Crossing of Borders in Europe published in 2017 by Manchester University Press.
