 @GroupKantian

Our Standing Group on Kantian Political Thought is delighted to return to the ECPR headquarters for its annual Winter School which explores the relevance of Kantian political thought in addressing the pressing global challenges of our time.

About

The Winter School will be held in conjunction with the Annual Rousseau Lectures and Conferences, which are co-organised by our Standing Group on Kantian Political Thought and the Keele-Oxford-St Andrews Kantian (KOSAK) Research Centre.

The main focus of the discussion will be the relevance of Kantian political thought for currently urgent and theoretically significant global issues.

The stimulating three-day training programme, which offers both in-person and online participation options, features:

  • Seven thought-provoking academic talks;
  • Delegate presentations.
By the end of the Winter School, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • A critical understanding of some of the most recent approaches to Kantian political thought;
  • A thorough grasp of the main objections to these theories and some of the most effective counterarguments;
  • Confidence in applying these theories to particular concrete cases of global importance today.
  • An ability to adapt theories in response to specific objections and to particular circumstances.

Join us for an intellectually stimulating experience that promises to deepen your understanding of Kantian political thought and its application in tackling the complexities of our modern world.
