Over the last decade, Brendan Coolsaet's different research projects have focused on justice issues posed by the governance of agricultural biodiversity, the conservation of protected areas, the intensification of land-use changes, and the transformation of rural landscapes in Europe, among others. He has conducted mixed-method research in Belgium, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, and worked in collaboration with environmental scientists, legal scholars, philosophers, agronomists, geographers, anthropologists, and environmental economists.

Valérie Deldrève is a research director in sociology at INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Bordeaux. Her research focuses mainly on environmental inequalities related to conservation policies for sites and natural resources, as well as on environmental mobilizations. Her habilitation work to supervise research (2015) aims to build a framework for the analysis of environmental inequalities, based on the controversies that run through the scientific current of Environmental Justice and sociological approaches to inequalities. She is also the co-coordinator of the EJJE - Environmental Justice-Justice environnementale network.
