Academic Time Conference

23 November 2020, Online

  @ECPRKnowledge

Time has become a problem in contemporary academe. While frequently acknowledged as the manifestation of shifting power dynamics between, on the one hand, the Professor (knowledge creator and disseminator) and, on the other hand, Management, Students, Society and Others (knowledge exploiters and users), our insight into what triggers these power shifts remains limited.

Organised by our Standing Group on Knowledge Politics and Policies, the Virtual Academic Time Conference will connect 18–20 invited scholars from ECPR Member institutions to identify, through in-depth discussions, the mechanisms behind the changing relationship between power and academic time.

Programme

The programme for this one-day workshop is guided by the following central questions:

  • What is the relationship between power and academic time?
  • How do changes in this relationship shape our understanding of the transformation sweeping the higher education sector around the world?
  • What factors drive these changes?

Registration

This event is FREE to attend, but registration is required.  You’ll need a MyECPR account to register.
NB: Participation is upon invitation from the workshop organisers only.
