An overall aim is to clarify to what extent the relationship between values and technology has changed with the evolving communication technologies growing more personal, social, and interactive. The concept of modern vs. postmodern politics and its current empirical operationalization of a postmodern index will provide an important tool to unlock this relationship and distinguish the change in relation to previous corresponding theories. Above all the paper serves the goal of clarifying the patterns of postmodern values as a useful tool to understand the dilemmas of political change, behaviour and agency of both citizens and decision-makers as a crucial intermediary map to link public opinions to policy and decision-making.
