This articles draws on a comprehensive dataset about the regional origin of Spanish ministers since the Transition. Several independent variables are proposed to explain the territorial recruitment of ministers like the regional population, the regional level of development, party networks, capital effect, the presence of a specific language or the support of pivotal parties at the Congress.
