Abstract

The study of lobbying and advocacy has benefitted from its diversity in the methods of data collection and processing, as well as increasingly nuanced concept development and operationsalisation. In addition, many new methodological tools and data sources are becoming available to social scientists, such as machine learning to process vast amounts of texts or interactions in online contexts. This panel focuses on advances in and refinement of research methods in the field by bringing together papers contributing to methodological or conceptual issues.
