The Economics and Politics of Remunicipalisation

Abstract

Remunicipalization has been one the most relevant issues emerged in the last decades in the debates on public and private, particularly within the fields of political science and public policy. Several cases, such as water remunicipalization in large cities such as Paris and Berlín triggered much debate. However, little is known so far about whether political action (actual remunicipalization) has been as intense as the scholarly and social debate on the topic. This sessions includes papers on the policy analysis and debates on remunicipalization as well as empirical based studies on the economic and politics of remunicipalization, from different geographical and institutional environments in Europe.
