This panel examines changing patterns of political competition in Europe, with a particular focus on Euroscepticism, populism, political efficacy, and the evolution of issue dimensions. The papers explore the relationship between Euroscepticism and populism, how citizens’ perceptions of political influence have changed within the EU’s multilevel system, and evidence of dimensional realignment among parties and voters in the Czech Republic. The panel also considers methodological challenges in measuring electoral participation and examines different dimensions of Euroscepticism and populism in Czechia. Together, the papers highlight how established and emerging political divides are reshaping competition across Europe.
