Abstract

This panel revisits resource mobilization theory to analyze how contemporary social movements navigate complex political and cultural landscapes. It explores how movements mobilize diverse resources, such as digital tools, cultural narratives, social support networks, and embodied practices, to sustain activism and challenge dominant power structures. It will further analyze how activists creatively leverage these resources to adapt to new forms of repression, cooptation, and opportunity. By expanding the concept of resource mobilization, the panel sheds light on the evolving dynamics of social movements in a time of crisis and change.
