This panel brings together contributions that challenge conventional understandings of the global order and propose new theoretical perspectives for its transformation. Drawing on a diverse range of approaches—from Gramscian analyses of hegemony to Daoist thought, post-colonial approaches and theories of the pluriverse—the panel critically examines the liberal paradigm that underpins the international system. What unites these contributions is a shared commitment to decentralizing dominant frameworks and interrogating their assumptions. How can alternative epistemologies and conceptual tools reshape our understanding of global politics? By fostering a pluralistic and critical engagement with international political theory, this panel seeks to open new avenues for reimagining global order.
