Abstract

Democratic participatory innovations are characterized by a mix of deliberative and direct-democratic tools and by online as well as offline participatory democracy (blended participation). Participatory budgeting and deliberative minipublics are high on the agenda. Furthermore, many of the instruments in the invited space have a digital component. This panel examines democratic innovations on the crossroads of digital and deliberative or aggregative and deliberative democracy.
