Abstract

This panel explores the dynamics of parties’ electoral strategies, and their consequences in contemporary politics, with a focus on mainstream accommodation, regional campaign strategies, ideological positioning within parties and intra-party divisions. Together, the five papers of this panel provide a nuanced understanding of the challenges and strategies political parties employ to navigate the complex landscape of modern elections. By examining the interplay between internal dynamics and external electoral pressures, this panel offers valuable insights into the evolving nature of political competition.
