Intersectionality and critical race perspectives

Abstract

The papers featured in this panel articulate intersectionality and critical race perspectives across multiple socio-political contexts. Building on diverse methodological strategies, such as content and visual analysis of social media, qualitative interviews, and the construction of a theoretical framework, the authors focus on different dimensions of representation. These include the political communication strategies of Indigenous candidates in Canada, the role of political misogyny in the representation of women in politics, and the construction of the ‘beauty duty’ in the Chinese digital sphere.
