Travelling to Bath

 

The campus is located on Claverton Down, south-east of the city. The University of Bath has excellent transport links. The easiest way to travel to the University is by public transport.

 

By air

Bristol airport is just 20 miles from Bath, making it the city's closest airport. It currently serves over 113 destinations worldwide. The A4 Air Decker bus service provides a direct link between Bath and Bristol Airport. Alternatively, the Bristol Airport Flyer Express will take you from the airport to Bristol Temple Meads train station, where you can catch one of the many frequent train services to Bath.

There are regular connections by rail and coach from London Heathrow and London Gatwick.

 

By rail

There are frequent services from London (Paddington), Bristol and South Wales to Bath Spa station. Visit National Rail for train timetables, fares and cheap advance tickets.

  • London (Paddington) to Bath takes approximately 1.5 hours
  • Bristol to Bath takes between 15 and 40 minutes, depending on which station you lave from
  • Newport (South Wales) to Bath takes approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour

 

By coach/bus

Visit National Express to plan your journey to Bath. There are frequent daily services between London Victoria, Heathrow Airport and Bath.

You can also plan journeys by bus and coach using Traveline South West.


By road

If you are driving and want to use a SatNav, the GPS coordinates are latitude 51.378344, longitude -2.325202. The main entrance to the campus is accessed via Norwood Avenue (BA2 7BA), not Quarry Road. Pay and Dispay parking for drivers is available on campus. There is also parking for motorcycles and electric vehicles with charging points.

Bath is situated just off the M4 motorway and takes approximately 2 hours from London. Traffic in and around Bath can become very congested. There are several city centre car parks. Limited, short-stay, on-street parking is also available on a Pay and Display basis.

Park and Ride services to the city centre are also available in Newbridge, Lansdown and Odd Down.
