Our Standing Group on Gender and Politics is pleased to announce that its next Conference is headed to Belgium, offering three days of rich academic and social exchange in the beautiful city of Ghent. The European Conference on Politics and Gender (ECPG) has become a must-attend biennial event that furthers the Standing Group's mission to foster debate about gender, sexuality and intersectionality in politics, academia and other areas of public life.
The flagship conference of our Standing Group on Gender and Politics offers a global platform for exchange around how understanding gender is key to understanding politics, and where diversity and plurality in analytical perspectives and methodologies are enhanced.
Organised biennially since 2009, the ECPG has established itself as a prestigious gathering that:
The Standing Group on Gender and Politics(SGGP) forms a broad-based network on issues relating to the study of gender and sexuality in politics and world politics.
The Group actively encourages workshops, panels and research groups with an emphasis on gender and seeks to increase the profile of women in the main fields of political science.
By prioritising inclusivity, fostering dialogue and promoting collaboration, the Standing Group on Gender and Politics actively strives to create an academic community that embraces diverse perspectives and addresses the unique challenges faced by scholars from different regions and marginalised communities.
Participants attending and appearing in the Academic Programme must register and pay through our online system.
The registration fees for the ECPG Conference are €250 (Standard participation) or €125 (Student participation).
Please note that your registration is not confirmed until your application has been accepted and your payment received in full.
For the first time, in addition to fee waivers, the standing group will offer a limited number of conference grants covering accommodation and travel expenses for under-represented groups will be made available. Applications for fee waivers and travel grants will close midnight UK time on Friday 23 February.
