Focusing on the step-child adoption amendment of the Registered Partnership Act submitted to the Czech Parliament in 2013, the author analyses lobbying strategies of the LGBTIQ* movements, as well as discourses of the opposing politicians and media coverage on the topic. The case study is suggestive for the development of the sexual minority movement from the Czech Republic, but the author also draws data from Slovenia to understand the localized and globalized aspects of its activities, strategies and tactics.
