Across the globe, the meanings of care are changing. Responding to shifts in family systems, demographic patterns and socioeconomic structures, the reorganization of care has brought about a huge increase in the global migration of women and men engaged in paid care work. Despite the growing interest in the migration of care workers, research and policies related to care and migration remain largely separate from each other. Our panel will connect these parallel universes by exploring the way migration is influencing social care regimes and labour markets and how the the reorganization of care is affecting transnational migration.
